New Avatars!

Hello All,
I have added new avatars in class dojo! I created an avatar out of the first day of school pictures I took of the kiddos. Now you have three different types of avatars to choose from; monsters, critters, and first day of school pictures!

Garbology and School Pictures

Today we became garbologists! If you would like to see what that means, click on the Fusion tab. Under the schedule tab you will see a video posted of your children on their first day of music at the high school with Ms. Fox. Lastly, an update about how our first full week of Daily 5 is posted under the Daily 5 tab.

IMPORTANT: School pictures are Friday, August 30th! Please send in any picture order forms as soon as you can.

Wetlands

We will be visiting the wetlands tomorrow morning (8/22) around 8:30 and staying for at least one hour (possibly much longer). This visit the kiddos will be using nets to capture and observe different wetland creatures. If your little one does not have boots at school yet please try to supply him/her with an older pair of tennis shoes. I have encouraged all of our students to bring jackets, hats, sunglasses, extra socks, water bottles, and to wear pants (or even bring a pair of pants just for the wetlands). All of these items may stay at school too! No need to lug them back and forth twice a week! =)

Open House Notes

A quick note about student supplies 

If you are able to please provide a 1g flashdrive for your child. I know it was not on the original supply list, but second graders use these weekly for fusion and reading foundations. I provided a link to our second grade supply list for all other materials needed.

WETLANDS 

We will be visiting the wetlands Wednesday (8/21) and Friday (8/23). Please, please, please, have boots at school this week with your child's name scribed inside BOTH boots. Please and Thank You =)

Welcome to 2nd grade amazing STEMbots and families! Thanks for stopping by our classroom blog! I am beyond excited to be your second grade teacher this year!
